British Values at St Paul's C of E Primary School

At St Paul's, we are committed to preparing our children to be responsible, respectful and active citizens who make a positive contribution to society. Through our curriculum, collective worship and daily school life, we actively promote the fundamental British Values of Democracy, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect, The Rule of Law and Tolerance of Those with Different Faiths and Beliefs.

Democracy is taught by giving children a voice in school life. Pupils are encouraged to share their opinions, contribute ideas and take on leadership roles, helping them understand that everyone has the right to be heard.

Individual Liberty is promoted by encouraging children to make positive choices, take responsibility for their actions and develop confidence in their own abilities within a safe and supportive environment.

Mutual Respect is at the heart of our school community. We celebrate the uniqueness of every individual and teach children to treat others with kindness, fairness and consideration.

The Rule of Law helps children understand the importance of rules in school and society. Through clear expectations and consistent boundaries, pupils learn that rules help keep everyone safe, happy and able to thrive.

Tolerance encourages children to value and appreciate different cultures, faiths, beliefs and backgrounds. We promote understanding and celebrate diversity, helping pupils develop into compassionate and inclusive members of society.

As a Church of England school, these values complement our Christian vision and values, enabling our children to flourish, respect others and contribute positively to the diverse world in which they live.
